En Clase:

Today we listened to a song about the about the seasons to practice our new vocabulary. Afterwards we created a story board for the movie, “The Devil’s Miner”, and wrote sentences to describe our illustrations. You can find thisactivity by clicking here.

La tarea:

***Required Homework***

I passed out a list of Latin American countries and a map of Latin America. You will need to look up the capitals of these countries and also research two interesting facts about the countries. On the map, number the countries on the list and write the corresponding numbers in the map. Turn this in on Monday.

En Clase:

Hoy hablamos de la película, “El minero del diablo”, y trabajamos en grupos para responder a las preguntas que seguimos mientras miramos la película.  En grupos, escribimos respuestas en español sobre nuestras dos culturas.  

La tarea:

Tenemos nuevo vocabulario sobre las estaciones y el tiempo.  Puedes encontrar la lista devocabulario aquí.  También hay una hojade práctica para practicar los términos.

We corrected the homework from last night involving the present tense conjugation.

We also finished watching the movie, "The Devil's Miner", and talked about it in class.

We watched more of the documentary "The Devil's Miner". While watching the movie we answerede the following questions:

1. What are three things you learned or that surprised you from watching this movie?


2. What are some similarities between your life and Basilio's?


3. What are some cognates, words, or phrases that you understood while watching the movie?

Today we started with a lesson over the present tense of ar verbs, or verbs ending in ar. Click here to seethe lecture handout and practice problems.
I also showed some examples of projects that students completed last year. I will have them in class for you to look at next week as well.
Over the weekend please look into at least 3 countries you would like to research and write about in your project.
Monday we will continue with the present tense and watch the movie “The Devil’s Minor”.
