Originally from
Wisconsin, David Haffeman earned his teaching certificate and two bachelor’s
degrees (one in Spanish and one in International Business) from Fort Lewis
College. His embarkation into the
Spanish language began on a school trip to Honduras in 2003 and he immersed
himself in Spanish culture when he studied abroad in Vitoria, Spain. Since then he has lived and traveled throughout
Latin America, including participating in microfinance internship in
Cochabamba, Bolivia.
Though he is
passionate about travel, David loves his home in the mountains of Durango. Out of the classroom, David loves to kayak,
raft, run, mountain bike, and back country ski and always wants to try new
things. After 11 years in Durango, he
still finds new places to explore and more challenges from this town.
